Enjoying Sun and Sea on a Unique Greek Island

 July 3, 2023 – Mykonos, Greece

Tendered: 8:00AM to 8:00PM 

We tendered at 8:00 am at Mykonos, which is one of the Cyclades islands off the coast of Greece.

Today was an extremely relaxing day spent on the Greek island of Mykonos, which is known for its whitewashed villages. It's one of the most popular islands in the Cyclades islands with its beautiful alleyways and sandy beaches.  We disembarked at 9:30 am and tried to become oriented to the location of the bus station on the island to take us to the beach at Platys Gialos.  We got directions to the central bus station and began walking.

By the time we arrived at the bus station it would be 30 minutes for the next bus to depart to our selected beach.  So, we engaged an uber driver who took us there in a few minutes.  The beach is lined with numerous establishments that have beach lounges available for “rental”.  

Rental means finding your umbrella and 2 lounges and ordering drinks.  

The purchase reserves your beach “equipment” at that location for the day.   We chose a place called DK Oyster and had a super location.  Drinks were ordered and we were set in this picturesque cove for the day. 

The bay had numerous moored yachts with an occasional passing sailboat.  The remainder of the day was spent relaxing and enjoying the water.

At 3:45 pm we were at the beach bus loading area and proceeded back to the bus station in town.  The walk from the bus station took us through the amazing alleyways of Mykonos 

and ultimately to the tender loading area where we boarded the tender that took us to the Beyond.  

Once on board we had some wine before dinner and enjoyed a relaxing dinner on the AFT outdoor Oceanview Café seating area.  

Tomorrow we will be in Athens and will have a 7:30 am departure to enable us to meet our guide at 8:00 am.

What a great day we had enjoying sun, sea, and family on a unique Greek island.
